Thanks to the 8×1000 funds of the Waldensian Table, Doctors for Peace is implementing an emergency intervention and post-emergency support in Nepal in favor of the populations displaced by the violent earthquake that hit the area of Jajarkot, in the west of the Himalayan country, last winter.
The project involves the supply of basic necessities, including food rations, hygiene kits and clothing, the organization of mobile camps, the distribution of climate-resistant seeds and horticultural plants and the offer of training courses on the construction of anti-seismic buildings.
The project, lasting six months, will help the population to meet basic needs and lay the foundations for the structural, economic and social reconstruction of communities after the serious event that has upset the lives of families already in a condition of serious vulnerability.
