Doctors for Peace collaborates with international partners and institutions by promoting international cooperation projects, in compliance with existing programs, monitoring and strengthening the initiatives already present in the area.
Thanks to the enthusiasm, voluntary intervention and financial support of private individuals and important local partners, Doctors for Peace operates in particular in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Since 2006, institutions and important local authorities have recognized Doctors for Peace as the ideal partner for the implementation of social and health initiatives and projects in the Verona area and neighboring provinces. Since 2010, the Department of Prevention of the AULSS 9 Scaligera of the Veneto Region has identified it to carry out innovative projects for the recovery of vaccination coverage and to carry out tuberculosis screening in marginalized groups. Added to this is the commitment to carry out outpatient services with free access for disadvantaged people and those who are not entitled.
Over the years, medical intervention has been enriched by constant awareness-raising and education activities to solidarity and the rejection of discrimination through conferences, photographic exhibitions and meetings in schools, universities and prisons.
To support the interventions carried out in third world areas and those to support the weakest groups in Italy, Doctors for Peace contributes to its financing by organizing fundraisers aimed at citizens, companies, public and private bodies.
