Serbia – Not Guilty: designing better interventions for the social inclusion and well-being of the children of incarcerated parents

The project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme and the National Youth Agency, includes exchange and mutual knowledge activities between Doctors for Peace and the Serbian partner organisation CRA – Belgrade, a member of the NOPPS network – Network for Post-Penal Support in Serbia. The purpose of the exchange is to acquire the knowledge and skills useful for the design of interventions for the social inclusion and well-being of the children of prisoners.

Project Map

The context

The aim of the project is to build and strengthen the capacity of the two partner organisations to design future interventions for the inclusion of children of children of prisoners in Serbia and Italy, who are often subject to social exclusion and discrimination.

As part of the project, two exchange visits will be organized in Serbia (Belgrade) and Italy (Verona) aimed at improving mutual knowledge, exchanging good practices on the social inclusion of marginalized groups and developing innovative methodologies to be included in a future intervention, also through collaboration with policy-makers present in the two countries. The meetings will be interspersed with two series of online meetings, aimed at designing an articulated intervention to protect the rights of prisoners’ children, benefiting from the research carried out and the information and data collected during the exchange visits.
