🌍A humanitarian emergency response intervention has been launched in Kenya and Somalia, with the aim of strengthening maternal and child health and improving the nutritional status of internally displaced populations and vulnerable communities in the Mandera Triangle.
🤰The project intends to involve at least 2,900 girls and boys and 1,700 women, with priority attention to pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under the age of five.
In an already critical context, further aggravated by the effects of the “Super El Niño” climate phenomenon, which risks compromising food security and access to water, the intervention aims to guarantee health care and food support directly in the affected communities. The planned activities are:
– Provision of proximity health services through mobile clinics to protect maternal and child health;
– Emergency nutritional support for pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under the age of 5;
– Education on health and healthy eating in favor of the different communities affected by the intervention.
🤝The project is made possible thanks to the precious support of the funds of the Otto per Mille di Tavola Valdese
