Doctors for Peace starts working in Guatemala
We are really happy to announce the launch of a new project in a country where we will work for the first time: Guatemala!
We have just inaugurated the “Nichir” project, thanks to which over the next two years we will carry out an important intervention to combat malnutrition in favor of two indigenous communities living in the Central American Dry Corridor. This climatic belt is characterized by periods of extreme drought which, also due to climate change, make it difficult to carry out agricultural practice that is essential for the survival of the population.
The project will develop a series of actions concerning health, healthy nutrition, sustainable agricultural development, economic empowerment, access to water. As already experienced in Ecuador, also in this project the protagonists will be women

The project is financed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the Irpef quota of the Eight per Thousand.
